About Us

On the 1st of February 1995 we took over a very infant business that started in a rear shed. Since that day This is Major Tom has been supplying the sign making industry with its materials for the South Australian and Northern Territory market.

In 1997 we started to import self adhesive films from Orafol in Germany for the sign making market. We signed an exclusive agreement with Orafol in 1998 that enabled us to have full access to their materials and exclusively distribute them within South Australia and the Northern Territory.

With the advent of the digital revolution in the sign making industry in the early 2000’s the market place is far more sophisticated and the need for new innovative products are always in demand. Our close relationship with our supplier has enabled us to supply products that were required by our customers that the market had yet to develop.

In January 2007 we moved into our brand new premises at Brompton. The extra floor space enabled us to stock more lines of products and this has given us more scope to grow our business. An example of this was the introduction of the Alupanel branded aluminium composite panel that we exclusively distribute within South Australia.

This is Major Tom celebrates 15 years of service this year because of you, our loyal customers. It is your support that makes Major Tom the success it is today. Our aim and focus has always been for the needs of our customers and our growth has been closely linked to the growth of our customers.
